Leap Motion- a new way to interact with your computers

Leap represents an entirely new way to interact with your computers. It’s more accurate than a mouse, as reliable as a keyboard and more sensitive than a touchscreen.  For the first time, you can control a computer in three dimensions with your natural hand and finger movements.

This isn’t a game system that roughly maps your hand movements.  The Leap technology is 200 times more accurate than anything else on the market — at any price point. Just about the size of a flash drive, the Leap can distinguish your individual fingers and track your movements down to a 1/100th of a millimeter.

This is like day one of the mouse.  Except, no one needs an instruction manual for their hands.

Mamas & Papas – Website

Mamas & Papas began with a flash of inspiration – we were expecting our first daughter, Amanda, and of course wanted to give our growing family the very best.

Our roots were in Italy – a country filled with passion, elegance and design. We looked and looked for items of this quality and style, but couldn’t find the attention to detail we were looking for.  So we decided to source it for ourselves, setting up our first boutique baby shop in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

Nearly 30 years on, the world of Mamas & Papas has grown to over 50 stores in the UK and many more around the world, but our passion for parenting and commitment to providing a world of inspiration for new parents remains unchanged.  Every baby journey is unique and special, and we aim to provide a world of colour, style, innovation and quality that gives parents the freedom to add their own creative flair and make the most of this magical time. Expert Says: Twitter Will Last Longer And Will Be More Valuable Than Facebook

Rory SutherlandUK’s leading ad man and Ogilvy & Mather’s Vice-Chairman believes that Twitter is a long term player and will be more valuable than Facebook in the long term as it has a ‘great deal of hidden revenue potential’. Rory who is credited with turning Microsoft into a major consumer brand in 80’s goes on to say that although Facebook might be the most popular social network at the moment, it could struggle to maintain that position in the future.

It is interesting to note that these comments come at a time when Facebook is gearing for its IPO and also about to touch the one billion user mark. Rory adds “I can see Facebook being superseded more easily than Twitter being superseded, as a forum for outbursts, Twitter’s [character] limit, its haiku element is very appealing. I wouldn’t bet against it being more valuable [than Facebook] in the long term“. Read more

Samsung Galaxy S3

There’s a lot to say about the new Samsung Galaxy S3, but let’s start with those all-important specifications. The new Samsung Galaxy S3 is slender and curvaceous, but despite Samsung’s talk of its Hyperglaze finish, you can’t get away from the fact that this is a very plastic phone. While Apple has its glass-finish on the iPhone 4S, HTC has oxidised metal on the One S, and Nokia uses a polycarbonate lozenge shape on the Lumia 800, it’s hard to get equally excited about the S3’s finish.

The Samsung Galaxy S3’s stand out attribute is its 4.8in super HD AMOLED screen. This OLED-based display has a headline resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, however it’s not a Plus-branded display, so I’m assuming it doesn’t have red, green and blue subpixels for every pixel, reducing colour accuracy and so the actual resolution of the display. On the plus side, the high headline resolution does help offset many of these problems; plus it does have all the usual advantages of OLED over LCD, with deep blacks, vibrant colours and lower-than-usual power consumption. The next device up in Samsung’s line is the Galaxy Note with its 5.3in screen, but the S3 looks far smaller and seems very pocket friendly. Read more

BlackBerry 10 Connected Porsche

Research In Motion showed off a BlackBerry 10 connected Porsche Carrera during the BlackBerry World keynote this morning. Thorsten Heins pointed out that while it has 4 screens throughout the car, they are not actually separate devices. It’s a connected ecosystem based on BlackBerry 10, all controlled by one device. This looks incredible, and I can’t wait to see it available for the public.
